Reporting to the Plant Manager at our Waseca, MN facility, local producer of Birds Eye, you will partner with equipment manufacturers, third-party contract engineering firms, and corporate resources installing cost-effective processing equipment capital solutions. You will provide servant and technical leadership that energizes teams, removes obstacles, understands, and coaches. Technical leadership that delivers cost-effective technical solutions in consideration of our core vegetable needs.

You will work with the Line Leads, Supervisors, Maintenance, corporate resources, and plant leadership team producing industry-leading tasty BIRDS EYE Vegetables.

  • Food Safety Quality – Visible Leadership.
  • Lead the facility Boiler and Compressor Room Teams.
  • Responsible for steam, water, compressed air, refrigeration, and natural gas systems.
  • Develop Agricultural and Plant Capital plans through collaboration between Plant Leadership and Corporate Engineering.
  • RMP, Ammonia System Risk Management Program Ownership.
  • Plant Controls Systems, Manages Process Engineer.
  • Work with Platform Engineering Director to resource projects including, Engineering Project Manager, Subject Matter Expert and Startup Manager roles.
  • Support the Plant in participating on and leading project teams that improve safety, quality, labor relations, sanitation, costs, and customer service.
  • Collaborate decision-making and communication with multiple departments and managers to ensure plant resources are used.
  • Lead the Plant in conducting necessary team meetings for proper communications and development of teams. Work with Maintenance, Quality, Production and Warehouse teams to create a cooperative environment.

Do You Have What it Takes?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and Five years' experience in manufacturing
  • 8 years food manufacturing industry experience in lieu of education requirements.
  • Management or Team Leading experience in a unionized environment
  • Rotate shifts and work weekends and holidays.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience implementing improvements, modifications delivering technical solutions
  • Experience with Refrigeration/Ammonia, Boilers/Steam, and Natural Gas systems
  • Experience leading project and change management
  • Experience managing several $5MM + capital projects and a progression through multiple roles in the Food Manufacturing industry
