Personal Trainer  

Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General's Stow Health and Wellness Center and become part of a top healthcare system in Akron. This patient-friendly facility offers a variety of primary care, emergency care and specialty services along with Lifestyles, a medically based fitness program and facility. 

As a Personal Trainer, you will be responsible for physical assessments, exercise prescriptions, motivation, policy enforcement, record keeping and providing excellent customer service at all times to every member. 

A caregiver in this position works varying shifts between 5:30am – 10:00pm.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Schedule and administer computerized Health Risk Appraisals and Physical Fitness Assessments to new and existing clients at least three times per year. 

  • Prescribe individual exercise programs that follow the guidelines adopted by Akron General LifeStyles based on assessment results and client goals. 

  • Maintain a record of past and present clients' attendance and payments. 

  • Review all policies and procedures with each client verbally. 

  • Provide floor coverage during times of need. 

  • Follow the established procedure for repair of equipment found to be malfunctioning. 

  • Display proficiency in the operation of the computer hardware and KI software. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor's degree in athletic training, physical therapy, exercise physiology, exercise science, physical education or a related discipline or specific certification in personal training. 

  • Experience in the administration of physical assessments, exercise prescriptions and program development. 

  • Ability to work variable hours as necessary.  

  • Capable of maintaining positive ongoing communications with clients and staff. 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Basic computer operational skills.
