Job Description

Within Brookfield Property Group, the Capital Markets team is responsible for all Brookfield’s property and corporate financing initiatives, capital structure optimization, and business plan maximization. Additionally, the Capital Markets team is responsible for Lender relationship management, consolidating and coordinating the global financing activities across the broader Brookfield franchise. Members of the Capital Markets team operate across a variety of real estate capital markets products: secured and unsecured property financings, securitization, public market debt and equity transactions, interest rate hedging products, and currency hedging.

Position Summary

The role is a unique opportunity to play a critical part in growing Brookfield Property Group’s real estate investing through shaping capital structures and leading complex financing transactions, managing lender relationships and delivering market intelligence that informs investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and execute financing facilities

  • Monitor and analyze real estate capital markets, including pricing trends, lender appetite and transaction structures, to inform financing strategies and investment decisions

  • Advise investment teams on complex financing structures

  • Identify financing opportunities across the existing portfolio

  • Manage and develop lender relationships

Qualifications & Requirements

The Capital Markets team is a small, global team and interacts with all functions throughout the organization. The candidate must be a team player and possess strong communication skills. The job requires the candidate to possess strong leadership skills, be detail-oriented, articulate, and well organized. The candidate must display initiative, good judgment in managing multiple tasks and strong problem-solving skills. The ability to think strategically and to present information in a clear and concise manner is critical.

Other qualifications include:

  • At least five to seven (5-7) years of relevant real estate capital markets experience

  • Experience and fluency in real estate debt capital markets, especially familiarity with larger more complex capital structures and different asset classes

  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including complex debt and capital structure analysis in Excel; ability to produce senior-level presentations in PowerPoint

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong commitment to and intellectual curiosity for all aspects of Real Estate Capital Markets

This role offers exposure to complex, global capital markets transactions within one of the world’s premier real estate platforms, providing significant responsibility, visibility, and long-term growth opportunities.

Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
