We are seeking a Training and Development Specialist with deep Fixed Operations experience (Service, Parts, and/or Body Shop) in dealership environments to join our Internal Training and Development team. This role is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of training content that ensures internal teams are equipped with the technical knowledge, product value propositions, and soft skills required to support our clients effectively. The position also serves as a key advocate and internal community leader for Fixed Operations, helping to foster knowledge sharing, collaboration, and alignment across teams.  In this role, the successful candidate will be able to facilitate group meetings, presentations, and training in all areas of the company. 

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Serve as the Fixed Operations subject matter expert (SME) to create and maintain employee training programs aligned with dealership workflows and operational best practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Implementation, Support, and Customer Success teams to assess training needs for new product launches and ongoing initiatives.
  • Attend new product launch sessions and contribute to the internal enablement strategy by developing training content and resources.
  • Design engaging learning content (e.g., eLearning modules, videos, manuals, job aids, workshops) tailored to technical, functional, and customer-centric skills.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure training materials reflect up-to-date product features and real-world dealership use cases.
  • Support onboarding and continuous learning for internal employees through structured programs that drive competency in Fixed Operations solutions.
  • Act as a community leader for Fixed Operations within CDK by:
    • Fostering active discussions around dealership best practices.
    • Leading knowledge-sharing forums and informal communities of practice.
    • Promoting a collaborative environment for feedback, Q&A, and continuous improvement via internal platforms and forums.
    • Deliver and enable training leading to sustained, Customer-focused performance change throughout the organization.
  • Measure training effectiveness and implement continuous improvements based on feedback, performance metrics, and business needs.
  • Stay current with automotive industry trends, dealership operations, and CDK product developments to proactively adjust training strategies.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time for internal on-site meetings or dealership visits
  • Follow all CDK Global policies and procedures
  • Complete all mandatory assigned compliance tasks and acknowledgements
  • Meet or exceed all performance expectations

Required Job Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive dealership Fixed Operations (Service, Parts, or Body Shop) or relevant equivalent.
  • 5+ years of training CDK products or comparable automotive retail technology platforms.
  • Experience in internal or external training, instructional design, or learning development roles.
  • Strong understanding of dealership management systems (DMS), particularly those related to Fixed Operations processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into digestible, value-driven training materials.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS), eLearning authoring tools (Articulate, Adobe Captivate, etc.), and multimedia content creation is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Automotive Technology, or related field preferred.
