Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) Organization has an exciting opportunity for an E-7A Systems Engineer – internally known as Program Integration Manager (PIM) – to join the USAF E-7 program’s Airplane Integration Office (AIO) to make an immediate impact on urgent production issues and long-term engineering development in Tukwila, WA.

This is a high-visibility role with technical assignments that directly support MS&B top-level goals, initiatives, and challenges.  This position will be responsible for one or more projects and will provide technical, business, and integration leadership for the Program on technical issues requiring cross-functional and cross-organization leadership.  The selected candidate will be willing to take on challenging projects that they may not have a full technical understanding of and stretch beyond their experience base.  There will also be opportunities to lead and collaborate with people from all over the world and to create and deliver innovative solutions to complex technical problems while maintaining compliance with US regulations.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Lead or Senior Level Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Be an integral part of supporting USAF E-7A program in-production and under development initiatives.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives in the areas of design, certification, flight test, and performance as well as program issues as directed by the Program Chief Program Engineer and Director of Engineering.
  • Commercial/Military Derivative design and/or analysis experience within Airframe, Interiors, Mission/Aircraft Systems, and Production/Liaison Engineering experience.
  • Monitor and respond to technical developments throughout aircraft delivery.
  • Manage risk and opportunities and support cross-functional and cross-Integrated Product Team issues.
  • Lead cross-functional technical integration and project management in support of resolving complex issues to help deliver airplanes, resolve supply chain issues, mitigate risks, and actualize opportunities, delivery, and production stream sustainability.
  • Lead detailed investigations to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements while precluding safety issues.
  • Communicate routinely with internal and external customers (peers, stakeholders, and senior and executive leadership), regulators, and/or suppliers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 5+ years of experience performing complex systems engineering or system integration work.
  • 5+ years of experience in leading and/or managing complex projects.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and business partners.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 5: 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with US certification/regulatory processes.
  • Good communication skills and a self-starter that takes initiative without supervision.
  • Adaptable and able to operate in a dynamic environment to meet objectives on time.
  • Project Management exposure/experience.
  • Ability to quickly analyze, understand, organize, and communicate complex technical concepts/problems across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience with leading major design changes through multiple phases of product lifecycle.
  • Ability to work out of comfort zone where process definition does not exist or is unclear.
