Your new role

Here at Hitachi Rail, we have a unique and exciting opportunity for an IT Senior Business Engagement Analyst.  Responsible to support the Corporate BRM with demand management and requirement analysis activities across the corporate business functions.

The position is based London Ludgate Hill (Hybrid)

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:

  • Analyses requirements, processes and procedures within the scope of the related business function and recommends appropriate IT solutions
  • Creates and documents new process and data models
  • Understands interaction of business requirements, project planning skills and IT methodologies in creating applications
  • Leads process and data requirements sessions for projects, as needed
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address complex problems within the technical arena and develop creative and practical recommendations
  • Discusses and presents information and issues internally within IT and business teams
  • Able to interface with all levels of IT management in business teams
  • Viewed as a technical resource and/or subject area expert by peers within IT
  • Helps to structure teams and tasks, which may include cross-functional teams
  • Provides technical guidance and mentoring across other functions and to customer groups
  • Can organize, assemble and lead teams of like technicians
  • Understands business partner/customer group’s business objectives and how their work can help the business realize its objectives or, in the event of problems, adversely affect their productivity
  • Manage required financial information such as RFP, Estimation, Contract, Purchase Orders, Receipts, and Payment
  • Provides financial forecast and actual information

About you

Knowledge and Experience            

  • Demonstrated experience in managing business relationships and engaging business stakeholders.
  • Experience of working within differing cultures and able to affectively deliver change in multiple cultural environments.
  • Experienced at delivering business projects and programmes using a defined methodology.

Technology Experience:

  • Procurement tools such as supplier management and spend analysis applications.
  • Safety, health, sustainability and quality reporting tools.
  • CRM and marketing solutions such as salesforce.
  • PPM management and reporting tools.

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to systematically gather relevant information from different sources to address an issue and make a prompt and insightful decision
  • Demonstrated ability to build constructive business relationships and gain the trust of others
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve conflicts across workgroups
  • Experience in developing and executing plans, meeting deadlines and operating under tight time constraints
  • Demonstrated experience in making articulate and effective oral presentations to different audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and build strong working relationships at all levels within the stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including analytical, problem solving, organizational, issue resolution, and customer relationship management
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business models and operational risks
  • Demonstrated ability to guide and support project managers, project teams, and business partners in solving complex issues
  • IT project management experience on mid – large projects
  • Business analyst experience for core business application
  • Utilization of project management skills and presentation and documentation skills
  • Financial, resource, and schedule management skills
