We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Collaborating Physician specializing in Family or Emergency Medicine to join our growing urgent care team at WellNow. As a Collaborating Physician, you will provide expert guidance and supervision to Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care remotely. Your role will be vital in ensuring accurate diagnoses, appropriate treatment plans, and adherence to best practices in urgent care medicine.

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in urgent care using a telemedicine platform, providing expert guidance and supervision for clinical decision-making, diagnosis, and treatment plans. 

  • Be available for PAs and NPs to discuss patients that meet WellNow’s criteria to call. 

  • Review patient cases remotely, assessing medical histories, symptoms, and relevant diagnostic data to provide accurate diagnoses and evidence-based treatment recommendations. 

  • Ensure compliance with established clinical protocols, guidelines, and regulatory requirements for urgent care practice. 

  • Guide and mentor PAs and NPs, promoting continuous learning and professional development through regular feedback, case discussions, and educational resources. 

  • Assess and triage urgent care cases, determining the appropriate level of care required, including referrals to specialists, or transfers to an emergency department when necessary. 

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in urgent care medicine, including best practices, and evidence-based guidelines. 

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, providing input and suggestions for enhancing patient safety, efficiency, and the overall quality of care in the urgent care setting. 

  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient encounters, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and billing requirements. 

  • Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and excellent communication skills when interacting with medical staff and patients, addressing their concerns, and providing clear instructions for follow-up care. 

Requirements: 

  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the relevant jurisdiction. 

  • Proven experience as a Collaborating Physician, preferably in an urgent care, emergency department, or telemedicine setting. 

  • Familiarity with telemedicine platforms and technology, including electronic medical records (EMR) systems and video conferencing tools. 

  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in urgent care medicine, including the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of acute medical conditions. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance remotely and establish rapport with PAs, NPs, and patients. 

  • Commitment to maintaining patient privacy, confidentiality, and adhering to legal and ethical standards in telemedicine practice. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing telemedicine workflows.

Education: 

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. 

  • Successful completion of a residency program in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine 

Salary:

  •  $200,000 annual

Required License or Certification: 

  • Board Certification in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
