The primary responsibility of the Data Governance Lead at Humana Military is focused on Data Quality. This responsibility is to implement and advance data quality best practices using enterprise governance frameworks. Additionally, the Lead must align those practices to the unique operational, business, and data governance framework needs of Humana Military. This role serves as a key partner across business and technology teams. It helps ensure data is accurate, consistent, reliable, and fit for use. This data supports informed decision-making, operational performance, and compliance expectations.

In this remote Lead position, you will report to the Director of Enterprise Data Governance. You will be supporting the tools, processes, and data stewards needed to identify, monitor, and remediate data quality issues across the organization. You will help establish data quality standards, measure and report on data quality performance, guide issue resolution efforts, and drive collaboration among stakeholders to address root causes and strengthen upstream and downstream processes. You will also support process improvement by enabling greater visibility into data issues and helping teams embed stronger quality controls into business operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Our Department of Defense Contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position

  • Successfully receive interim approval for government security clearance (NBIS - National Background Investigation Service)

  • HGB is not authorized to do work in Puerto Rico per our government contract. We are not able to hire candidates that are currently living in Puerto Rico.

  • 7 years of experience in data governance, data quality, or data management roles

  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, metadata management, data lineage, business glossary, and data catalog concepts

  • Experience profiling and analyzing data to identify trends, anomalies, risks, gaps, and opportunities for data quality improvement

  • Experience developing data quality scorecards, metrics, and dashboards

  • Technical fluency with SQL, data profiling techniques, data mapping and interpretation of data lineage and transformation logic

  • Experience supporting enterprise analytics, reporting, regulatory, operational, cloud modernization, or AI readiness initiatives through trusted and governed data practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10 years in healthcare, business, or financial services

  • Experience with healthcare data (claims, clinical, service operations)

  • Experience with data quality platforms such as Ataccama, Collibra, Big Eye, Alation, Informatica, or Microsoft Purview

  • Experience with data visualization

Work at Home Requirements

To ensure Hybrid Office/Home associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Hybrid Office/Home associates must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$117,600 - $161,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
