The Derivative Compliance team supports each of the AllianceBernstein Asset Management businesses globally manage broker relationships, complete trading documentation and keep compliant with derivative regulations around the world.

OPS Job Description:

We are seeking a Nashville-based candidate for a Derivative Onboarding Coordinator to join our Derivative Compliance Team

Describe the role:

The account onboarding coordinator will report to the Senior Onboarding Coordinator and will be responsible for working closely with our trading desk and relevant internal stakeholders to prioritize and complete outstanding account onboarding. The role will also work closely with the rest of the Derivatives Compliance team, Legal and Operations to understand which accounts will be covered on the agreements the negotiator is working on and ensuring agreements are properly recorded in our systems once executed and ready for trading.

The onboarding coordinator will be responsible to onboard ISDA, MSFTA, Clearing, Listed Options, Prime Brokerage and GMRA/MRA (collectively, “derivatives agreements”). Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities

You will be dedicated, assertive, organized and highly professional. The candidate will have a combination of derivatives industry experience, onboarding experience, relationship management skills, and practical business insight.

Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:

The applications used within the role are a combination of internally development applications and industry utilities including:

  • Markit Counterparty Manager

  • Markit RFA

  • Proprietary Legal Agreement Database (ACE)

What you'll do:

Coordinate the onboarding of accounts with our derivative dealers.  This will include maintaining an accurate and detailed matrix of the progress and problems encountered for each account, driving our team’s agenda with the dealers while successfully managing our dealer relationships, and acting as a knowledgeable resource for the firm with regards to the status of your workflow items. Manage ad-hoc projects that may involve assisting in the negotiation of a new agreement type in response to regulatory developments, coordinating with various other teams in the firm (i.e. portfolio management, operations, IT and sales), or complex data management and organization. Act as a knowledgeable resource for information regarding derivatives trading agreements and derivatives regulation for the firm

What makes this role unique or interesting (if applicable)?

The Derivatives Compliance team is dynamic group responsible for the monitoring, implementation, and compliance of derivatives regulation, the negotiation and execution of all derivative trading agreements, the onboarding of derivative trading accounts with ABs dealers, and the management of all related data. This is a collaborative team geared towards knowledge sharing and efficiency, providing ongoing support to the business.

A successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of regulatory changes around the globe with respect to the use of derivatives and work closely with front office team members at building and maintaining strong broker relationships. Tenured team members are expected to participate in industry working groups to collect market intelligence and represent Alliance Bernstein’s interests.

  • Solid organizational skills and a high degree of professionalism combined with the ability to readily adapt to rapidly changing environments and deal with competing priorities.

  • Working knowledge of advanced excel functions (v-lookups and pivot tables) are required and non-negotiable. 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word is also a requirement and non-negotiable.

  • Team player with demonstrated experience building and maintaining good working relationships both internally and externally.

  • Knowledge of derivatives products, agreements and regulations is desirable but not required.

  • Familiarity with various fund structures (mutual funds, pooled funds, private funds, UCITS, and institutional accounts) is desirable but not required
