Stryker Sage is looking for a dynamic individual to lead and manage our onboarding & new hire training experience within our US & OUS markets.  The Sales Training Manager will develop, plan, execute, and facilitate training on Sage’s products and sales processes for the primary audience of our new hire sales force. The job requires extensive collaboration with sales, marketing, and functional partners to align on overall strategy and design of training programs and resources.  The Sales Training Manager will monitor and evaluate new hire training, obtain ongoing feedback, assess results, and implement enhancements and/or new programs, as needed, to drive elevated sales performance. 

This position can be remote or located in Cary, IL. Candidate can relocate to Cary, IL if preferable. Travel within the US, Australia, Canada, and Amsterdam is required. Travel may expand to other countries in the future state.

What you will do

  • Develop and administer training, both virtually and in-person, for the sales force to meet sales and corporate needs both in the US and OUS. OUS to include, but not limited to: Canada, EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa), APAC (Asia Pacific & Australia) 

  • Engage with field sales through formal Field Work Withs to continue to develop our sales force and identify current and relevant training needs/trends 

  • Partner with NPD and Marketing stakeholders to execute new product introduction training courses and update existing product offerings, as necessary 

  • Maintain documentation, provide coaching, and communicate progress to management for new sales representatives 

  • Ideate and collaborate with marketing and sales for the development of sales offense/strategy 

  • Produce and utilize measurement/assessment tools to indicate performance, determine effectiveness, and inform improvements 

  • Perform cost analysis of training methodologies (labor, equipment, travel, planning, development, and materials) 

  • Partner with sales and sales leadership for collaborative opportunities, benchmarking, and best practices 

  • Provide open communication and expectations with Marketing Managers, Marketing Associates, and all other presenters participating in training events.  

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships not only internally, but with our external vendors as well. 

  • Give leadership and facilitate National Sales Meetings workshops (including Mid-year) 

  • Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results; modify programs as needed; develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media. 

  • Perform other related duties as required

What you will need

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related discipline required 
  • 6+ years of work experience required 
  • Sales experience required
  • 3+ years medical device or marketing experience preferred  ​​
  • Thorough knowledge of company products, technology, business segment and sales channels preferred

$98,000 - $210,000 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Travel Percentage: 60%
