Position Summary:

As a member of the Product Design team, the Senior Product Designer defines and owns the user experience for products across our fleet of customer-facing robots and BrainOS applications. This includes the robot’s interaction with the daily operators and general public, along with the tools for service, deployment, and robot manufacturing users.

As part of the Product Design Team, this individual will identify and define robotic experiences that empower the workforce of the future. You will become intimate with how our robots integrate into our customer workflows and own the subtle details of creating elegant UI and robotic solutions to drive customer usage and engagement. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Be a design leader, developing continuity between hardware, software and web/mobile apps
  • Understand the strategy surrounding customer needs using research, feedback, and market analysis
  • Lead field research to observe and quantify customer behavior to improve customer usage, engagement, and influence product/engineering requirements
  • Develop personas, journey maps, process flows
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high fidelity designs
  • Deliver new and innovative approaches to evolving design challenges crafting the architecture, interface, and interaction flow of physical and digital experiences according to usability best practices, and user-tested data
  • Communicate design decisions consistently and effectively, clearly presenting the rationale and principles behind each visualization and influencing decisions
  • Influence the adoption and evolution of existing design systems, based on standards and best practices, to define and implement design criteria, design guidelines, and design specs
  • Act as a trusted collaborator who works effectively with product management, hardware and software  engineering, marketing, other designers and other team members
  • Enhance the creative team's culture and quality standards through mentoring and guiding junior designers
  • Represent the design team to the broader organization and external partners, promoting a deeper understanding of best design practices
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise and confidently present ideas in front of customers

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in UX design, human computer interaction, interaction design or related discipline; and 4-8 years of experience in interaction design, service design, or related fields
  • Or Master degree (or higher) in UX design, human computer interaction and 3-5 years experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics: 

  • Portfolio required
  • Mastery of design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong knowledge and experience with applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and internal and external customers
  • Strong experience with prototyping

Salary Range:

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in San Diego, California is $119,506 to $154,655. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Brain Corp is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
