Job Responsibilities:

Summary:

Oversees all Logistics Operations, Shipping, Receiving, Warehouse, Line Side Delivery to meet Plant Objectives, support and continuous improvement of Department Activities. Develop Logistics Area Leaders and Team Leaders Leadership to meet Company Goals.

Monitor Inventory Levels in the Plant for Finished Goods, WIP and Raw Materials to support Build Plan Support and continuous improvement of Material Handling Systems in the Plant. Monitor Equipment Status and provide proper maintenance of Forklift, Tuggers, Reach Trucks, AMRs, Carts, Flow Racks, and Racking System. Monitor Performance Reviews and provide continual feedback. Maintain and Monitor Cross Training Program in the Department. Monitor and meet Key Performance Indicators to meet Division Goals. Coordinate Annual Physical Inventories. Evaluate and Monitor fleet of Incoming returnable Packaging levels to support Supply Base. Evaluate and Monitor fleet of Outbound Packaging going to the Customer. Monitor Customers communication. Coordinate material/production systems and training of personnel to maintain customer requirements. Interacts closely with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality to effectively plan and execution of build plan to support customer requirements. Resolve technical issues, supervise, and validate the completion of deployed AMR missions throughout shift Present technical AMR mission results and provide recommendations for AMR route delivery optimization Responsible for shop floor material handling communication systems execution. Follows and supports Magna Structures LMV and Magna’s operating principles, including:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Qualifications: (These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Employees will be required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently.)

Education and/or Experience:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field and 5 years’ experience or combination of education and experience with Program Planning & Scheduling in Automotive Industry.
  • APICS certification desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thoroughly knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Kanban, JIT and Logistics manufacturing high volume tangible good.
  • Aptitude for understanding and participating in technical discussion on assigned components in the context of material planning and production issues.
  • Extensive hands-on MRP/MPS experience using an ERP system.
  • Lean Manufacturing tools (VSM, Kanban)
  • MMOG Experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent at managing data at a detail level
  • Business acumen and ability to exercise sound judgment in the course of executing daily responsibilities
  • Creative thinker, able to define, implement and/or lead process improvement activity
  • RFID Knowledge in Implementation and operation.
  • Able to address and resolve ambiguity; prioritize, multi-task and work independently
  • Proficient in leading pull implementations at various levels of the Supply Chain (External and Internal Suppliers).
  • Experience with FIFO, PFEP, and other Lean or continuous improvements concepts and practices are highly desired; prefer candidates who have previous experience with kaizens.

  • Support and comply with all IATF16949 procedures and work instructions.

  • Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.
