POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Consultant in BDC Advisory Services delivers standard and customized advisory services projects for a specific practice, with a focus on professional, high-quality solutions that help entrepreneurs develop their business. They manage project delivery; provides subject matter expertise and, occasionally, sales support; and helps promote the practice’s offering.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Support clients in implementing standards and customized advisory services projects.
Provide a unique offering of impactful services regarding the implementation of standards including, but not limited to, Quality Management (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100), Sustainability (ISO 14001, ISO 45001), Food Safety (GMP, HACCP, GFSI) and Cybersecurity (ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI DSS, NIST) to targeted entrepreneurs. The focus will be on delivering professional, high-quality solutions that help entrepreneurs develop their business.
Manage project delivery by monitoring project scope, budget, schedule and objectives, and perform quality assurance on projects and deliverables.
Serve as a “subject matter expert” and stay current on market trends to support the development and evolution of practice solutions and tools.
Contribute to business development.
Provide sales support by performing client need diagnostics and providing input for custom proposals.
Work closely with Client Partners to help transfer product and technical knowledge and expertise, deliver projects, and sell new mandates.
Contribute to practice outreach activities by developing marketing content and helping to promote the offering.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree in food science or related professional designation is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years in a consulting firm, with experience in implementing food safety certification programs
HACCP / SFCR Training
Internal auditor training
In-depth subject matter expertise.
Ability to develop pragmatic solutions that are relevant in a SME business environment and to provide strategic coaching to the business, as required.
Strong client and customer service orientation, with a clear focus on delivering value to the client.
Proven ability to manage and deliver standard and custom consulting projects.
Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices in the context of delivering services to clients.
Demonstrate significant project management experience.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as an ability to participate in outreach, promotion and business development activities.
Teamwork, collaboration and relationship-building skills.
Bilingualism in English & French (an asset in most markets and a requirement in some).
Travel within a limited geographic area, with occasional travel to other locations across Canada, if required.
Nice to have
GFSI Training (SQF, BRC or FSSC 22000)
Knowledge and comprehension of ISO Standards such as ISO 9001 or others.
