The Opportunity
his position works out of our Sylmar, CA location in the Cardiac Rhythm Management division.
As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.
Technician I, Service is responsible for performing root-cause analysis and upgrades on high quality medical device hardware and systems. This position includes detailed assembly and testing of various electronic components and finished devices.
What You’ll Work On
Process Return Material Authorization (RMA) receiving equipment into the Service Depot.
Perform root-cause analysis, repair, upgrades and testing of product and systems that return from the field, documenting all work on Service Reports.
Complete all necessary service documentation required for returned product.
Assist in maintaining organization within the Service Depot.
Maintain inventory levels and provide inventory counts when required.
Provide assistance in the authorizing of technical documents related to the repair, upgrade or testing of returned product.
Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Technical Diploma OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Associates Degree OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Exceptional troubleshooting ability
Physical ability to lift 30 pounds overhead
Mechanical assembly, able to work with tools • Soldering skills
Fiber optic splicing a plus
PC experience a must
Previous experience in a medical device company preferred
Good organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to interface with multiple groups in the organization to resolve service issues.
Overall positive and optimistic attitude.
Technical writing skills are a plus
Works well independently
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Occasional overtime is a requirement of this position.

The base pay for this position is
$17.90 – $35.80/hourIn specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
