In recent years, Double Good has seen 40% year over year growth, and we’re excited about our future! We’re excited about the possibility of you joining our mission. We are looking for a Director, Manufacturing Continuous Improvement to join our growing Operations Leadership Team.

Location - onsite in Burr Ridge, IL and Elmhurst, IL

About the role:

We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Director, Manufacturing Continuous Improvement to drive operational excellence across our production facility. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance manufacturing processes, improve quality, increase efficiency, and reduce costs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and change management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuous Improvement Strategy: Develop and execute strategies for continuous improvement across all manufacturing operations, including process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency enhancements.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Lead the application of lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies to identify areas for improvement, design solutions, and implement best practices.
  • Process Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Use data-driven approaches to propose and implement effective solutions.
  • Project Management: Manage and oversee continuous improvement projects from conception through implementation, ensuring they meet deadlines, stay within budget, and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, quality, production, and other departments to drive initiatives that support overall business objectives and improve manufacturing performance.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs for employees on continuous improvement methodologies, lean principles, and best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts to facilitate the adoption of new processes and technologies, addressing resistance and ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Problem-Solving: Address complex manufacturing challenges by applying problem-solving techniques and facilitating root cause analysis to develop and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of continuous improvement activities, including project plans, progress reports, and results. Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Experience & Skills we value:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and process optimization.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
    • Proven track record of successful project management and process improvement.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Minitab).
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.

Base Pay range for this position:

  • $120,000 -  $172,000 annually
  • Target Annual Bonus: 20% of base salary

The final discretionary compensation that will be offered for this role depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
