Job Description:

Purpose of this position

  • The China Commercial Excellence Operations Director will serve as a key pillar within the Commercial Excellence organization, responsible for connecting strategy and execution, with the majority of time spent monitoring and driving execution excellence

  • The role aims to enhance the operational efficiency of SFE, CE Data Foundation, and Customer Experience, elevate the strategic stature of functions, promote a range of company level CE strategic projects, including the design of go-to-market strategies, digital customer engagement, and performance management, thereby strengthening the company's competitiveness

Key Responsibilities

Tactics and Execution

    • Lead the annual regular optimization of the company's go-to-market & deployment model to ensure optimal market coverage and resource allocation

    • Build a performance management system from KPI setting to action closure, promoting a data-driven management culture

    • Identify critical capability gaps in SFE, operations, and customer engagement, and drive cross-department capability enhancement projects

Leadership

    • Integrate the existing teams to improve strategic collaboration and execution efficiency

    • Guide the team to transition from traditional support roles to strategic partners

    • Enhance the team's understanding and judgment regarding data, business needs, and tool development, moving from "demand executors" to "value creators"

Digital Transformation

    • Drive the upgrade of digital tools such as customer engagement planning tools, customer segmentation, and content management from "tool provision" to "strategic planning + insight enabling"

    • Improve data management standards and promote operational data systematization and automation

    • Collaborate with IT, Marketing, Sales, and other departments to implement digital solutions that deliver business value

Qualification

Work Experience

    • At least 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry

    • Deep expertise in Sales Force Excellence, Sales Operations, Digital Customer Engagement

    • Strong ability to develop and implement strategies

    • Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams, especially in driving change in uncertain environments

    • Experience in Sales Management is a strong plus

Skills and Competencies

    • Structured thinking and strategic perspective: capable of designing go-to-market and incentive systems aligned with business goals

    • Results-oriented and execution-driven: skilled at solving complex problems and delivering outcomes in fast-paced environments

    • Self-motivated and adaptable: highly self-organized, proactive in resource-constrained settings

    • Data sensitivity and analytical skills: able to quickly grasp the logic behind business data and generate insights

    • Change management capability: able to lead mid-level teams in transitioning from execution to strategic thinking roles

    • Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English, capable of smooth collaboration with local management and regional/global teams

Educational Background

    • Bachelor’s degree or above from a reputable university

    • MBA is a plus
