Citi continues to enhance its business control and governance framework by building out Institutional Credit Management (ICM), a function in the 1st Line of Defense, to house and consistently manage credit risk activities performed across its Institutional Client Group organization. ICM provides integrated “end-to-end” credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management, and monitoring for wholesale credit risk across the enterprise. Within ICM, the Credit Underwriting function (ICM-UW) provides analysis, underwriting, 1st Line of Defense credit approval and subsequent credit monitoring.
The AVP will hold a critical role within the ICM by applying in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the improvement of processes and workflows for the area or function. The selected candidate must be able to evaluate moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information.
The ideal candidate requires strong analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic materials from multiple sources. Additionally, the candidate will regularly assume informal/formal leadership roles within teams and will be involved in coaching and training of new recruits. The AVP will have a significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Strong communication, diplomacy and leadership skills are required.
