Finance professionals play a critical role in supporting the demands of multiple constituents, including AIG executives, regulators, and stakeholders, while staying at the forefront of accounting and reporting requirements and compliance strategies. The role oversees expenses covering entire AIG companies and affiliates, including business driven, IT, functional and corporate costs.

This is critical role in Global GOE FP&A interacting directly with Global GOE FP&A Leader, C&B and HR team, Controllership team, Regional Finance teams, and Finance Business Partners.  The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and have experience with quantitative and strategic analysis for C-Suit executives. As a senior finance professional, you are respected for your technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, create strong analytics using data and experience, contribute to strategic initiatives, and offer solutions to identified problems.

Your contribution at AIG

Senior Finance Professionals are responsible for developing financial reporting and analytics to support business strategy execution.  You reach across geographical and functional organizations to seek support for the financial reporting and analytics you produce.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform quarterly forecast and actual expense walks using Consistent/Operational Cost Explanations, methodology and definitions that can translate to actionable business partner drivers
  • Partner with business support finance teams to understand and describe the key operational drivers and prepare Q&A for potential questions.
  • Review, analyze, and challenge Forecast/Budget results and identify cost efficiency actions
  • Develop Overall Expense Pulse (including C&B Pulse) estimate and prepare monthly actual comparison to forecasts and budgets
  • Assist with the creation and communication of the Global FP&A GOE calendar to keeping everyone aware of key tasks, dates, and deliverables.
  • Corporate & Segment Reporting – implement a process to facilitate external segment reporting and analysis for expense drivers
  • Develop and maintain historical data models and financials to support the key AIG Financial Reporting variance drivers

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in expense management; experience in financial services, full insurance P&L experience is a plus, prior consulting experience is a plus;
  • Exceptional/advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills (including Think-cell or similar PowerPoint tools), ability to work with large data analysis and sophisticated leadership presentations requiring quick turnarounds
  • Ability to integrate strategic and operational information into quantitative analysis [and succeed with time, resource and information constraints]
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to senior finance leaders, and a desire to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Experience in navigating/influencing a global team
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and analytical skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter and ability to multi-task
  • Team player with good problem-solving skills who is curious and willing to learn, and able to succeed in ambiguous scenarios;
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in a quantitative field (e.g., Finance, Accounting); advanced degree or CFA is a plus.

The base salary range for this position in CT $98,000-122,000 and the base salary range for NJ is $96,000-120,000. The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
