C.H. Robinson is looking for an Associate Global Forwarding Agent to join our Ocean Imports team. In this role, you will dive into the world of global forwarding operations, mastering essential concepts and terminology while embracing our company's goals and values. At C.H. Robinson, we’re firm believers in the power of in-person collaboration to fuel innovation and support training. In this role, you will engage with peers on-site 4-5 days a week for the first 4-6 months. After that, you will switch to 3 days a week in the office. This role strikes the perfect balance between teamwork and autonomy. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Master processes, documentation, and terminology in international shipping from purchase order to delivery 
  • Apply industry knowledge to respond to customer requests 
  • Coordinate shipments to meet customer SOP requirements 
  • Maintain high data integrity for shipment details, INCOterms, routing, dates, and documents 
  • Understand pricing and complete low to medium complexity customer quotes 
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with customers, C.H. Robinson offices, agents, and vendors 
  • Foster positive working relationships within the team 
  • Leverage CHR’s network of departments, support teams, and leadership 
  • Adhere to and maintain customer SOPs 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Required: 

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs 

Preferred: 

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university 
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills 
  • Proven critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to adapt to ever-changing tasks and customer needs 
  • High level of attention to detail 
  • Values a diverse and inclusive work environment
