Job Description Summary

The Product Engineer is responsible for the industrialization and production of HA gas turbine components repairs in meeting GE requirements and specifications. This role reports directly to the HA Repairs Cell Leader.

Essential Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Plan and execute successful new product introduction through qualification in accordance with Product Qualification and Readiness (PQR) and Manufacturing Process Plan (MPP)

• Collaborate with Quality organization (e.g. Product Quality Engineer) to ensure product verification at appropriate repair stages, ensuring Critical-to-Quality (CtQ) characteristics are achieved

• Provide process training to repairs/production technicians and assess for competency

• Focal point for product repairs technical discussions/implementations with internal GE stakeholders, e.g. Advanced Manufacturing Repairs Technology Center

• Review and disposition on product nonconformity through Perfection Review and Non-Conformance Reports

• Drive internal Root Cause Analysis and effective Corrective and Preventive actions

• Conduct assigned process and product audits

• Drive initiatives to increase productivity, product/process yield and reduce Cost of Poor Quality

• Review and approve incoming condition and final repair reports

Qualifications/Requirements

• Engineering Degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

• 3 years operational, quality and engineering experience in related industry preferred

• Strong communications, interpersonal and influencing skills

• Gas Turbine, Rotor or Aeroderivatives component repairs experience will be an added advantage

Desired Characteristics

• Good understanding or applied experience in interpreting engineering drawings (GD&T)

• Analytical skills & experience in performing Root Cause Analysis

• Meticulous and data driven in reviewing and making dispositions
