The Ref Data Mgmt Mgr provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally, has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Exercises full leadership and supervisory responsibility over Operations Support department typically consisting of multiple teams.
  • Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes recommendations for staffing, pay increases, promotions, terminations, etc.
  • Determines hiring to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Recommends new work procedures with broader scope of impact. Deals with variable (occasionally complex) issues with substantial potential impact.
  • Directly impacts the area through shared responsibility for delivery of end results and contribution to planning, budget management and formulation of procedures; influences resource planning.
  • Responsible for supervising and providing leadership to the Ref Data Mgmt. team.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills; ability to negotiate with external parties.
  • 5-8 years of experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Must have a desire to work in a fast paced, metrics and deadline-oriented department
  • Understanding of Citi’s internal policies and processes and the ability to quickly identify areas of weakness.
  • Familiarity with XMC (SAP Business Objects) and reporting functionality would be a big plus.
  • Knowledge in sanctions screening or KYC is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, including proficiency in Excel and/or MS Access.
  • Strong teamwork skills in a local setting, as well as across different geographic locations.
  • Strong workflow management skills with focus on process improvement and operational redesign
  • Demonstrate assertive interpersonal and written communication skills with no aversion to client and management interaction
  • Ability to work and adapt in an ever-changing regulatory and control environment
  • Strong organization, project and change management skills essential
  • Ability to focus on high quality work while under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a target driven environment meeting agreed SLAs
  • Complete all mandatory reports in a timely manner and to required standards
  • Excellent awareness of and adherence to audit & risk controls
