Description

At BJ’s Wholesale Club the Digital Engineer:

  • Is responsible for supporting a product team and contributing to the software design, development, and overall lifecycle for the product.
  • Will work closely with the product team to deliver features aligned to the business and product strategy.

In this particular position, you will be working with storefront engineering team to build out store front capabilities to provide best experience for the online shoppers.


Responsibilities
 

  • Development of various business capabilities and features utilizing IBM WebSphere commerce platform or spring boot microservices
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to build scalable and secure solutions.
  • Fields questions from other product teams or support teams
  • Work closely with product managers and designers in the discovery phase of any new projects to make sure all the engineering considerations are met.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback
  • Proactively monitor the production systems to identify anomalies
  • Work closely with reliability engineers to solve production issues.
  • Advocate new technologies and ideas for adding value to the business.

    Requirements
     

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar
  • 3+ years of active, hands-on, development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Commerce platform.
  • Hands-on experience with back-end development using JAVA/Spring Boot and front-end technologies like Angular, React, Java Script, CSS
  • Experience with database technologies DB2, Dynamo DB, Redshift a plus
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or similar).
  • Familiar with Adobe platform.
  • Experience with batch processing using Spring Batch and streaming solutions like KAFKA a plus 
  • Exposure to micro services architecture, cloud native architecture, test driven development.
  • Exposure to various performance monitoring tools.
  • Experience with various tools to enable CI/CD(Jenkins/Bamboo)
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Hands-on, execution-oriented, and capable of getting things done quickly
  • Ability to work in a Product Team model, in a fast-paced, flexible, Agile environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues in timebound manner
  • Strong Oral and Written Communication
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent work ethics with a strong determination to accept new challenges
  • Proficient in problem-solving. 

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $15.00.
