We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Business Development Director to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for devising plans to sell solutions to our business development targets, ensuring the achievement of revenue goals for sector or regional accounts. Your focus will be on gaining new business by utilizing professional sales techniques and managing a base of target accounts.

This is an EMEA based role and we will therefore consider candidates based anywhere within Europe.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Identify and validate profitable business opportunities for Plexus, filling our opportunity funnel and ensuring new opportunities receive adequate attention.
  • Secure and protect profitable business opportunities by actively listening to customer needs and presenting tailored Plexus solutions that result in new or increased revenue.
  • Build consensus by influencing cross-functional operational teams to assist in booking business and provide guidance to the pricing team to ensure a higher win rate.
  • Develop deep consultative credibility in assigned sectors to be seen as a subject matter expert by our target accounts.
  • Represent Plexus Corp in a professional manner and build relationships with key customer decision makers.
  • Execute on Plexus' Best People strategy by evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and providing development and coaching to employees.
  • Learn and master Plexus's sales enablement methodology.
  • Work with the business development staff to follow up on leads and utilize the CRM tool to record and communicate sales activities.
  • Report on high-level opportunities and support the day-to-day needs of potential customers.
  • Support trade shows as required.
  • Travel may be required to meet the needs of the business.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Results-driven with an excellent track record of proactively creating business opportunities within an EMS, electronics, or engineering design environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely and effective recommendations.
  • Proven ability to influence others, resolve conflicts, and negotiate.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
