Closing Manager

Position Summary:  Closing Manager

This position will report to the Corporate Operations Manager.  The Closing Manager is responsible for monitoring the performance and pipeline of the Closing Department as a whole and facilitating all priority loans requests; establishing Department policies and procedures; and ensuring the Department adheres to all regulations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage, coach and mentor the Closing Team, including Team Leads
  • Hold consistent 1:1s with their direct reports, including team member evaluations.
  • Motivate and drive behaviors of the Closing Team, including Team Leads, to meet or exceed goals.
  • Manage overall workflow of the Closing Department while facilitating and prioritizing closings and managing staff workflow and assignments.

  • Manage closing calendar and closing pipeline to insure all loans are scheduled and sent within the required SLAs & KPIs
  • Oversee the preparation and compilation of required reports such as monthly closer error report and monthly funded loans.
  • Analyzing Post-Closing, QC, or Compliance findings and facilitating timely remediation as required
  • Maintain and support the strong sales and service culture within Silverton Mortgage’s Corporate office and branch locations.
  • Builds relationship with all Silverton Team members, especially focused on Sales Teams as well as their Operations Team to facilitate a positive work environment of teamwork and efficiency.
  • Research, develop and implement standard procedures for all closer within department for operational efficiency or based on error trends.
  • Prepare for and contribute to all Operations departmental meetings.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of TRID, RESPA, and other regulation requirements.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with Silverton Mortgage’s values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education, Knowledge, Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years working as a loan closer or in a similar position
  • 2-5 years Management experience required
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of mortgage process flow
  • Ability to lead and supervise staff effectively
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications
  • Knowledge of regulatory issues surrounding consumer lending products and guidelines
