  • Assist in designing and building innovative platform capabilities that enhance the scalability and reliability of our infrastructure
  • Participate in modernizing our API gateway to support evolving service demands
  • Analyze and optimize system performance by implementing effective solutions based on feedback and data
  • Incorporate Site Reliability Engineering practices into daily operations to boost system reliability and reduce operational toil
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure development with overall business goals
  • Support the mentoring of junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement

What’s great about the role:

  • Be part of a pivotal team that bridges infrastructure and application development, offering unique insights and impactful contributions across the company
  • Engage directly in projects that significantly enhance the technical capabilities of a leading financial platform serving over 100 million members
  • Experience the satisfaction of seeing your work directly impact both the user experience for our members and the productivity of your fellow Karmanauts
  • Gain exposure to a wide array of cutting-edge technologies, including Istio, as you work on critical components of our tech stack
  • Enjoy a culture that promotes learning and growth, with opportunities to take on challenges that stretch your skills and develop new competencies
  • Benefit from a supportive environment where mentorship and community are valued, helping you thrive both professionally and personally
  • Take advantage of comprehensive company perks that enhance your life both inside and outside of work

What we are looking for:

  • Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar language, with substantial experience applying these languages in a production setting
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes and Helm in a professional setting
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of risk assessment and mitigation in infrastructure projects

What we’d like to see:

  • Advanced experience managing Istio in a large-scale production environment
  • Expertise in developing Kubernetes operators or contributing to Kubernetes itself
  • Background in implementing comprehensive monitoring solutions that enhance system observability
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization of service mesh and API gateways
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices using modern tools
