The Regional Supply Chain team is responsible for overseeing day-to-day supply chain activities within the region's markets. This encompasses responsibilities such as supply planning, logistics and fulfilment, warehouse management, inventory management. Their objective is to ensure the smooth flow of goods from market warehouses to customers while also striving to optimize costs and enhance customer satisfaction.
The Materials Planning & Optimization Analyst is responsible for leveraging advanced analytics and AI-driven tools to enhance material planning accuracy, optimize inventory levels, and improve supply chain efficiency. This role combines data science, predictive modelling, and operational planning to support global material availability and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analytics & Insights
Analyze material demand, supply trends, and inventory performance using advanced analytics
Develop dashboards and tools to support strategic planning and operational decisions
Planning & Forecasting
Develop and maintain accurate materials requirement plans based on production forecasts, historical data, and market trends.
Align Master Production Schedule (MPS) with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) strategies.
Monitor and adjust planning parameters in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Kinaxis, etc.) to reflect changes in demand or supply
Utilize AI/ML models (where available) for demand forecasting, supply risk prediction, and inventory optimization
Inventory Management & Process Optimization
Track and analyze inventory levels, turnover rates, and aging stock to ensure optimal inventory health
Identify and implement opportunities for inventory reduction and cost savings
Support material availability and demand fluctuations with proactive planning
Identify inefficiencies in material planning processes and recommend data-driven improvements
Collaborate with global supply chain team to standardize and automate planning workflows
Scenario Modelling & Simulation
Perform “what-if” analysis to assess the impact of supply disruptions, demand changes and material excess/obsolescence risk
Provide recommendations for contingency planning and risk mitigation
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to align material plans with business objectives.
Support material planning & management processes with data-driven insights
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or related field
1– 3 years of experience in material planning, supply chain analytics, or data science
Proficiency in data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) and programming languages (Python, R).
Experience with AI/ML applications in supply chain e.g. forecasting, optimization (preferred).
Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced planning solutions
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
