About the Role

As a key member of the AI/BI team, the Business Intelligence will play a central role in driving data-informed decision-making and embedding a data-driven culture across the organisation. This role involves close collaboration with business units across Asia and with Group office functions including Marketing, Distribution, Strategy, Finance, Digital, and Operations. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and enhancement of business intelligence solutions under the BI Centre of Excellence (BI CoE), supporting a wide range of business applications. Combining technical acumen with strategic thinking, the role delivers actionable insights that improve performance and enable smarter business outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Interprets data to generate insights. Uses tools like SQL, Excel, or BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to create dashboards and reports for decision-making.
  • Creates user interfaces and dashboards to present data insights. Focuses on usability, interactivity, and clarity of visualizations.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions that drive measurable impact across AIA business units and Group office functions.
  • Create reusable BI assets for fast and high-quality delivery across business units.
  • Drive cross-functional and cross-geographical collaboration with senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on BI platforms and methodologies.
  • Provide consultancy on BI platform design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for BI solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost benefits analysis on business intelligence tools.
  • Ensure regular communication with AIA Group Offices and local business units.
  • Define BI standards and best practices.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a numerate discipline, e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science;
  • Experience managing a BI team
  • Experience mentoring other BI developers.
  • Proficient in Power BI
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in data / BI development
  • Strong foundation in data analytics, including statistical analysis, data modeling, and deriving actionable insights from complex datasets
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques such as Python, R, SQL, and machine learning frameworks is a plus
  • Ability to effectively build lasting relationships by demonstrating strong interpersonal and influencing skills throughout all levels of the organization
  • Positive towards challenges and able to lead change
  • Optimistic; positive attitude; able to work in growing, fast paced and ambitious environment, flexible and adaptable to change
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese is required to effectively communicate across diverse teams and stakeholders.
