Accounting Process Management (APM) is seeking a Business Analyst to join the Accounting Operations team.  In this role, you will support global accounting operations and systems for our lease accounting function.  Your responsibilities will include maintaining and administering end-user, operational, and product management support for Red Hat’s global and regional teams. As a Business Analyst, you will have an understanding of the full accounting cycle as well as great communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills to inspire confidence in the solution.

What will you do:

  • Manage the lease accounting system CoStar (Red Hat’s Lease Accounting Tool) and related workflows and work with various teams on any necessary changes/updates. 

  • Identify opportunities for system improvements, and process improvements, and drive implementation of the solutions.

  • Partner cross-functionally with other teams at Red Hat to identify strategic changes as well as capability & functionality enablement, and develop future application roadmaps.

  • Provide ongoing operational support to functional teams and stakeholders by responding to inquiries, managing relationships, providing best practices, and troubleshooting issues

  • Partner with IT to manage and support change through implementation

  • Support month and quarter-end operational close activities as needed

What will you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Experience with a major enterprise resource planning (ERP) software package

  • Ability to drive and manage workload independently

  • Highly motivated with good creative problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and to support complex operational initiatives

  • Motivated with a growth mindset and a desire to deliver results beyond the status quo

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; record of working with diverse internal and external groups in the field of finance, operations, senior management, etc.

  • Ability to thrive in a team environment and take on new challenges as they arise

  • Understanding of the ASC 842 with the ability to communicate Red Hat’s approach to our stakeholders or lease accounting experience a plus 

  • Business Analyst or Six Sigma certification a plus
