ROLE SUMMARY
Working with a dynamic team of business development experts, you will play a critical part in developing and supporting the growth and profitability of the organization through external opportunities. You will contribute to the development of the organization's strategic plans to ensure the continued success of your team. Your communication style will make you an important member of the team to facilitate agreements and achieve targets. Your collaboration with all major business units will help in the integration of individual business unit plans with the corporate plan. You will also be evaluating and developing business opportunities.
The Senior Manager, Corporate Development will be responsible for helping to manage the evaluation and execution of strategic transactions for Pfizer, including company mergers and acquisitions, licenses / collaborations and significant corporate divestitures. Core activities will include leading/supporting the analytics and processes for identifying and executing new opportunities, creating presentations for senior management summarizing opportunities, and managing the internal and external teams to drive to successful outcomes.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate cross functional workstreams to identify, analyze, and transact on M&A targets, licensing / collaborations and other strategic transaction opportunities
Develop and manage complex / detailed financial and valuation models
Work closely with the broader business development team, business units and enabling functions to ensure a consistent analytic approach and best practices to the financial modeling of all of Pfizer's business development opportunities
Manage, conduct and coordinate diligence on opportunities being evaluated by the Corporate Development team
Help manage internal and external core financial data sources for the Corporate Development team
Create / review senior management presentations summarizing opportunities
Respond to corporate and WBD business unit leadership requests for analysis of potential transactions
Interact regularly with external advisors and other third parties
Actively partner with team to monitor competitor transaction activity
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree
5-8 years of experience in related corporate/business development function or investment banking
Advanced degree in business or medicine/science preferred
Excellent quantitative skills with significant experience in complex valuation modeling and analysis
Proficiency in key financial databases, metrics and corporate financial reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, project-driven, real-time team environment, prioritize projects and deliver quality results within tight time constraints
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and operations
