Q2 is seeking a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to join a team that is taking the lead on bringing Q2's 22 million Online Banking users nationally to the cloud via AWS. We are looking for an engineer that has some experience working with Terraform, AWS, Azure and looking to grow their career.

As a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer you’ll be working on production systems that are utilized to deliver Q2’s Online and Mobile banking solutions to banks and credit unions to the cloud via AWS. When these systems fail, you'll work with team members to identify and find the root cause of system failures in order to make decisions to quickly restore services, investigate root cause, and develop a plan that mitigates future failures.

Responsibilities: 

  • Realtime support of critical service disruptions Support, maintain, and improve production cloud environment.
  • Collaborating across business and technology organizations, providing sound analysis and thought leadership.
  • Working alongside our Incident Response Team, provide post mortem analysis of why services broke or became degraded.
  • Proactively analyze client environments and identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Through the use of a wide breadth of tools, identify software bugs or misconfigurations and fix those issues.
  • Work across various departments while leveraging your diverse technical skills to educate others.
  • Recommends opportunities for process improvement and create process documentation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide exceptional verbal and written customer communications

Experience and knowledge: 

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience
  • Knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines Implementation for applications and infrastructure relating to cloud technologies.
  • Proficiency with Automation / Orchestration tools such as Ansible and HashiCorp Consul, Nomad, Vault, Packer, and Terraform or equivalent technologies
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows Systems Administration
  • Experience with scripting / development languages such as Go, Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Fluent in VMWare and cloud environments such as AWS and Azure
  • Excellent skills needed in Azzure engineering and Operations
