About the Role
As an Agile coach, you will be responsible for the adoption of Agile within AIA Malaysia, which will require working with people at individual, team, department and organizational level. You will need to provide hands-on support, coaching and mentoring to individuals; work to educate and support the adoption of Agile across all levels and roles; teach Agile processes and embody and encourage cultural change and mindset shift; and continually assess and evolve approach and strategy to Agile adoption catered towards the organization’s needs.Educating employees at all levels, inclusive of senior/managerial, and provide recommendations, approaches, processes or tools relevant to the individual or team in question. Provide training sessions and teach the skills and understanding required to bring the organization towards adoption of Agile methodologies.
Set up and guide teams to work within Agile and Lean principles, advising on creation of cadence, ceremonies, methodology, and processes. Facilitate team building activities, align teams with each other and with deliverables, map out accountable roles and responsibilities within Agile and reconcile this with the organization setup within AIA. Understand the project and the roles of the individuals within it, and ensure it is set up for transparency with inclusion and understanding from all levels including project sponsors and EXCO. Facilitate on-boarding and inception ceremonies, and work with the team to ensure creation of product vision, goals and backlog, and to identify risks and dependencies.
Observe team daily activities, facilitate, coach and advise on creation of priorities and value, recommend and demonstrate methods and tools to improve and address problems, in order to encourage better performance and product quality, and to increase team collaboration and self-organization.
Provide consistent feedback and coaching to the teams while collaborating with people across varying levels and roles across the organization in order to facilitate the understanding of, support for, and the creation of a receptive environment to Agile, and remove barriers to the teams.
Work towards the creation of a strategy for the adoption of Agile across AIA Malaysia on an organization-wide level, with clearly defined stages of adoption from the introduction of Agile, employee education, fostering teams and cultures, long term maintenance of Agile as a methodology and sustaining the cultural mindset within the organization.
Implementing Agile process, principles and practices across all levels within the organization, with focus on methods which increase collaboration and transparency, encourages a culture open to flexibility, allows experimentation and learning, and empowers teams to understand and believe in the product they are working on in order to ensure quality deliverables.
