The DAS Platform Technical Program Manager (IC) position is an Englewood, Colorado, US based for the Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) Platform organization. The position offers a unique opportunity to the right individual to part of the DAS Platform Senior Leadership Team to drive and provide platform software program management oversight, along with fiscal management while influencing and partaking in the Global DAS Platform evolution and strategy.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the Englewood CO location. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

The individual has to be the right fit for the position – this goes beyond technical skills, competencies, and experience, but into realms of culture, ethics, morals, attitude (up, down and lateral), the ability and capability in working collaboratively in heavily matrixed global environments, the ability to assimilate into the organization: leadership, product and business partners, undertake direct (HR) responsibilities over development teams and indirectly influence global development.
The individual needs to be able to manage multiple conflicting priorities, with minimal day-to-day direction, solve for the immediate, yet deliver for the longer-term - on time and budget, juggling multiple projects in parallel and quickly switching context.
Execution and Delivery Against Strategic Goals and Priorities
Ensures development delivery in tight stated timeless, driving home development and delivery to such – on cost, on budget, on time and deliver with high-quality to changing scope as needed to meet customer needs, finding creative ways to solve problems and get things done (vs. saying why it can’t be), resolving to the need within a fixed budget and fixed headcount model.
The individual needs to be fully vested and have a long-term commitment (not be one jumps from one shiny thing to the next because it is something new), have a high energy persona with a positive attitude, visible in communications and daily interactions to drive the organization forward and achieve results.
The individual should be capable to lead during change. This will require the ability to create, foster, and maintain a positive work environment for the teams in time of change (business, technology, and organizational transformation), through adversity, and turmoil – leading (guiding) teams and people through changes.
The individual needs to have a high level of emotional intelligence and be able to work with others (above, peers, and lower in the greater parent org) in a calm manner and not allow his/her feelings or personal/work circumstances impact others around.
Working knowledge (from a technical leader perspective), spanning many of the following areas (with specific focus on those most needed and related to Platform), to effectively interface with the day-to-day workings of the Development Teams:
It is understood that the individual may not have all the skills or knowledge, but the individual should be ready and willing to learn those needed to fulfil a Technical Role successfully; these include but not limited to, attending, and completing relevant Training as needed for the work at hand.
This individual will need to effectively collaborate with other peer leaders, bring harmony, to lead and grow the teams, to build and support highly complex and challenging products including sustain, maintenance & ‘keep the lights on’ (KTLO). In this position, the individual is required to possess broad and practical experience in software development delivery, or program management for large scale systems, specializing in building strong and highly skilled teams, partnering with customer facing teams to align with the “voice of the customer” and collaborating with product leadership in support of product strategy, planning and developing new software with successful execution and high quality.
The individual needs to be highly ethical, has very high moral standards, shows mutual respect, works well across global teams, is trustworthy, shares knowledge, is a coach and a mentor, is an excellent team player within and outside the immediate teams and sphere of control and influence.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
