What You Will Do

• Maintain existing data reports and visualizations that currently support operations
• Create powerful visualizations using approved digital tools to help automate business processes and provide insight to all functions to drive better, faster decision making
• Design and build connected applications in Ignition that integrate shop-floor machine data, ERP data and MES data
• Connect with teams across the business including Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Finance, Planning, Quality, Engineering and SIOP to gather requirements and develop digital solutions
• Develop analytical models connecting different datasets together to produce more powerful outputs
• Responsible for managing own projects, features, and enablers by following the Collins DT project management framework and agile process – from intake through to release
• Exercise UX/UI best practices to ensure consistent and effective design of the team’s solutions
• Participate in continuous process improvement and lean initiatives

Qualifications We Require

• Must be currently enrolled in a University Bachelor’s program in a relevant field of Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science
• Some hands-on experience with data visualization using PowerBI, Tableau or other tools
• Superior oral and written communication skills, and well organized
• Successful candidate must meet all requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD). Must be eligible to work in Canada

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with programming languages such as Python, VBA, JavaScript etc.
• Experience in data mining and analysis with tools such as Databricks, PowerBI, or Python libraries such as Pandas
• Experience interacting with SQL databases
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, and data retrieval using APIs
• Basic understanding of the application life cycle process including requirements gathering, wireframing, mock-up, development, testing, training, and deployment
• Results oriented with strong decision-making capacities and problem-solving skills
