DESCRIPTION:
As a Systems Administrator III at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll maintain and optimize our critical infrastructure and applications. You'll join a collaborative team dedicated to supporting our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. In this position, you'll manage complex enterprise systems, implement effective solutions, and ensure maximum system performance and reliability. Working with advanced technologies across cloud and on-premises environments, you'll have opportunities to drive automation, improve processes, and contribute to our digital transformation initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in enterprise systems administration and infrastructure management
• Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• Professional certifications in relevant technologies (AWS, Azure, ITIL, etc.) advantageous
• Strong expertise in Windows Server and Linux operating systems administration
• Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies
• Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Shell)
• Proficiency in database administration (Oracle, SQL Server) and query languages
• Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize enterprise applications and middleware
• Experience with monitoring tools, security controls, and patch management
• Strong incident management and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
• Experience with change management and ITIL processes
• Ability to participate in rotating on-call coverage as needed
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Demonstrated experience in project management and documentation
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Experience supporting team members
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting SLAs
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools
