ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Benefits Analyst will embrace ownership of the daily operations of Waystar benefit programs and will further support and assist in the planning and implementation of benefit policies and programs in alignment with team member needs, organizational goals, and market competitive differentiation. The Benefits Analyst will participate in planning, priority setting, process improvement activities, and project management to maintain and elevate Waystar benefit program offerings.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

What You'll Do

Benefits Administration:

  • Embrace ownership of benefit administrations across all programs including health and welfare, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of benefit transactions, payroll contributions, vendor interface files, and benefit invoices.
  • Partner cross-functionally with HRIS team to ensure Workday benefits module is properly configured for seamless functionality and drive innovation in the automation of benefit processes.
  • Be an advocate and champion of Waystar benefit plans and wellness programs—demonstrating a passion for benefits and wellbeing programs and the positive impact these programs contribute to the team member experience.

Compliance and Regulations:

  • Conduct critical periodic audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with plan and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support compliance activities including but not limited to non-discrimination testing, required plan communications, SOX controls, and compliance filings.
  • Remain current on changes in benefit laws and regulations and propose changes that may be needed to maintain compliance.

Team Member Support:

  • Foster positive relationships and teamwork between the People Team and its clients, engaging proactively to provide solutions with a collaborative approach.
  • Provide primary point of contact for Team Member questions or concerns related to benefit offerings, enrollment, and claims processes.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and presentations to educate and champion Waystar’s comprehensive benefit program offerings.

Program Development:

  • Support the design and implementation of new benefit programs or plan changes.
  • Research and benchmark benefit programs to support market competitive position of Waystar benefit offerings.
  • Lead development and distribution of key team member communications to drive awareness, adoption, and optimization

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze benefit data to evaluate utilization and engagement of benefit programs and identify trends or issues.
  • Monitor benefit plan performance and trends and formulate recommendations to maximize engagement and team member experience.
  • Drive enhancement of benefit reports and dashboards within Workday.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of benefits enrollment, changes, and communications.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all benefits-related transactions and decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

What You’ll Need

  • 3-5 years of directly related experience in benefits administration
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPPA, FMLA, COBRA and ACA regulations
  • Experience utilizing an enterprise HRIS system for benefits administration
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work with changing priorities effectively and efficiently
  • Self-motivated, able to work effectively with minimal oversight at times while possessing a solution-seeking attitude

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
  • Workday HRIS experience
  • CEBS certification
