Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop CXL-DDR controller firmware, which includes crafting, building, bench testing, debugging, and failure analyzing firmware for new high-performance memory controllers. Involvement in leading all aspects of front-end firmware developmental activities and coordinating with other firmware engineers.
  • Drive multi-functional collaboration with the architecture team on new product specifications, ensuring alignment between different teams. This includes making critical decisions that affect the firmware development process, such as choosing the best methods and strategies for development.
  • Facilitate technical communications with other teams, both verbally and in writing. This includes reviewing, contributing to, and crafting clear documentation for work that meets both internal specifications/standards and SSD industry standards and specifications.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • A MINIMUM of 15 years of relevant experience.
  • BS/MS/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
  • Extensive understanding of High-performance controller Firmware design is a must. Proficiency in C/C++/Python in a Linux development environment is required. The candidate should also have hands-on experience using Bus Analyzers and DDR Trace.
  • The ability to drive engineering efforts through all aspects of new product development and system-level debugging is crucial. This includes the ability to analyze problems, diagnose root causes, and apply corrective actions.
  • The candidate must have excellent knowledge of system storage and its relationship to the platform ingredients: CPU, Memory, PCIe, drivers, OS, firmware, etc.
  • The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in new controller bring-up. This involves initializing a new hardware controller for the first time and making it ready for use.
  • Proficiency in debugging and performance optimization in an embedded environment.
  • Deep understanding of PCIe protocol is a big plus.
  • Significant experience in developing front-end firmware.
  • Strong and relevant expertise with ASIC simulation tools and advanced verification methods.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$179,000.00 - $313,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
