Job Description

We are seeking an experienced training manager who's skilled in the design and delivery of training programs/adult learning. Develops and maintains a resource training and development library; ensuring that catalogs of core curriculum and training resources are disseminated to appropriate areas of the corporation. Oversees the training administrative process and identifies opportunities for automation to improve efficiencies. Plans, develops, establishes and controls assigned organization and budget functions, as well as human resources functions.

This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days. We're currently only able to offer this in Cincinnati, OH, Gresham, OR and Earth City, MO.

This role requires an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and General Agency (GA) Clearance before the hire may start. Typically, this process can take anywhere between 8 -12 weeks, however, time may run longer.

Directly and through subordinates, identifies, designs and assesses training tools, resources, programs and policies that support the business needs and strategic plan while being responsive to business line training needs. Regularly interfaces with line management and participates in project task forces to identify training needs and ensure the effective implementation, communication, administration and assessment of training programs. Analyzes training needs and requirements; investigates available training options to determine the most cost-effective alternatives. Ensures that training staff have the tools necessary to effectively deliver and administer programs; pilots designed courses; ensures the delivery of high-quality training and development programs. Analyzes, recommends, negotiates and maintains training vendor contracts and relationships.

Job Functions:
  • Leads a small to mid-size team of trainers at various locations across the network.
  • Develops training philosophy, policies and programs; and recommends new programs.
  • Focuses on facilitating the design and delivery of skill-based training programs primarily for high turnover nonexempt positions.
  • Responsible for the design and delivery of training programs for multiple business units within a line of business.
  • Able to facilitate both technical and soft skill workshops, including from remote locations.
  • Manages the internal design of programs and support materials; ensuring that training programs address business objectives and employee needs; assesses and advises management on effectiveness of programs and practices.
  • Participates in project task forces comprised of line management, training staff from other business lines and/or other personnel, as appropriate to identify training needs and ensure the effective implementation, communication and maintenance of programs to address identified needs.
  • Analyzes training needs and requirements; investigates available training options to determine the most effective alternatives.
  • Ensures that training staff have the tools necessary to effectively deliver and administer programs; pilots designed courses; ensures the delivery of high-quality training and development programs.
  • Develops and maintains a resource training and development library; ensuring that catalogs of core curriculum and training resources are disseminated to appropriate areas of the business line.
  • Oversees the training administrative process and helps identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiencies.
  • Serves as an internal consultant to staff on training design issues.
  • May provide consulting services to managers regarding ad-hoc training requests.
  • Plans, develops, establishes and controls assigned organization and budget functions.
  • Performs other management tasks including recommending hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, performance standards and conducting reviews.  Approves employee time records, work assignments, vacations, leave requests, etc.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five or more years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Basic knowledge of the design, delivery, administration and evaluation of training and development programs
- Effective consultative, project management, analytical, planning and organizational skills
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Remote management and leadership skills a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- General to Intermediate knowledge in SharePoint
- Testing and Analytics skills related to new implementations
- Strong leadership skills of a small to mid-size team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of design and delivery of training programs/adult learning.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Strong experience in the administration and evaluation of training and development programs.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $83,810.00 - $98,600.00 - $108,460.00
