You will need to live within commuting distance to our Portage, Michigan office. You will need to be in the office 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) and can work from home on other days.

What You Will Do 

  • Design, develop, and verify mechanical components for medical devices under supervision. 

  • Assist in prototyping and bench testing to validate design concepts and performance. 

  • Support root cause analysis and resolve technical challenges using data-driven approaches aligned with product requirements. 

  • Conduct research and feasibility studies to inform product design decisions. 

  • Translate customer needs into actionable design inputs that guide development. 

  • Understand product use and clinical procedures to inform design strategy. 

  • Create and refine engineering documentation in compliance with design control procedures. 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management teams. 

What you will need

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering. 

  • Entry-level (minimum 0 years) relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical engineering practices and tools. 

  • Basic knowledge of design principles within a regulated environment. 

  • Familiarity with CAD or CAE modeling tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo). 

  • Basic knowledge of analysis tools and statistical methods. 

  • Understanding of materials and manufacturing methods. 

Travel Percentage: 20%
