Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our investments team at Mercer. This role will be based in Gurgaon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Specialist/ Senior Specialist Investments

Performance Reporting Analyst undertake in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis of fund managers, portfolio management methodologies and investment technologies to evaluate their potential to produce future outperformance. This analysis is used to recommend investment managers, tools and portfolio optimization strategies that meet clients’ needs and match their appetite for financial risk. As an entry-level individual contributor, a Performance Reporting Analyst is ready to apply the knowledge acquired via an advanced education and to start to develop professional skills with the help of a manager and more experienced team members.

We will count on you for:

  • Assume ownership and accountability for the generation and delivery of monthly and quarterly performance reports to consulting teams for multiple client assignments
  • Communicate with data providers to gather and/or clarify client specific data for reporting
  • Input data into database and maintain high accuracy through extensive quality checking procedures
  • Produce fund commentary by assessing the performance and positioning of different asset classes and investment portfolios
  • Proactively communicate and address queries related to performance monitoring to clients and consulting teams
  • Recruit, train, motivate and develop staff to their full potential
  • Review processes to continuously improve reporting quality

What you need to have: 

  • 3-6 years’ experience in the wealth management/investment industry overall
  • Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or economics with demonstrated academic achievement
  • Exposure to Global Capital Markets and working knowledge of various asset classes and investment strategies
  • Strong understanding of investments; asset allocation, benchmark calculations, performance computation and analysis of returns involving varying time periods
  • Adept in financial mathematics including calculation of portfolio returns (money-weighted, time-weighted, modified dietz methodologies)
  • Excellent understanding and proper usage of investment-related terminology in written and verbal communication in English

  • Advanced Excel skills in managing complex datasets
  • Desirable -Able to code and debug difficult functions / macros using VBA/Python
  • Ability to normalize complex data and define referential integrity in Access
  • Desirable - Ability to programmatically manipulate worksheet and cell properties using VBA/Python
  • Able to translate business requirements to technical IT requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
