The opportunity
The head of Top Tier Management is responsible for overseeing and managing the core producers and leaders’ development ecosystem in collaboration with the zone, value stream, and enablement teams. The role has ownership on the development of top tier advisors and leaders in terms of scale, productivity, and longevity. The head will also help in driving activation across advisor and leader segments by embedding the Manulife Agency System and ensuring adoption of our business tools / system to deliver on the strategic ambitions of Agency.
Responsibilities
Define and own Top-Tier vision and strategy - Design to-be state for Top Tier program:
- Define tiers of agents / leaders and associated qualification criteria and benefits
- Rewards, campaigns, and recognition (e.g., celebratory events, “Wall of Fame”, priority access to corporate facilities / assets)
- Capability development (e.g., exclusive workshops covering trending topics, skills, etc.)
- Drive Business support through various back office and enablement teams (e.g., high-net-worth support, digital branding, leads, dedicated / expedited underwriting)
- Community building (e.g., regular comms / get-together events)
Actively Manage cohorts of top-tier agents and leaders
- Maintain cohort segmentation and associated reporting (e.g., headcount, performance)
- Identify and execute cohort level actions / interventions to steer performance – e.g.,:
- Priority allocation of prospect leads
- 1:1 coaching / shadowing
- Study group to refresh sales techniques – H&P, cross-/ up-sell, etc.
- Regular check-ins to collect feedback / insights
Drive an annual growth in the number of MDRTs
- Analyze data to gather insights to be shared and discussed with and used by zone agent development teams in their performance reviews and action planning.
- Develop, launch, and promote rewards, recognition, and incentive programs specifically designed to drive new MDRT qualifiers and repeat qualification.
- Review, enhance, and promote the agency benefits program for MDRTs.
- Develop recruitment materials and programs to target MDRTs from competition.
Develop programs to drive the number of validating leaders and leaders qualifying to segmentation levels
- Analyze data to gather insights to be shared and discussed with and used by zone leader development teams in their performance reviews and action planning.
- Develop, launch, and promote rewards, recognition, and incentive programs designed to advance the capacities of our agency leaders.
- Review, enhance, and promote the agency benefits program for leaders as they achieve segmentation levels.
- Develop recruitment materials and programs to aide our leaders in growing and developing their respective teams.
Development and implementation of the Manulife Agency System
- Review and develop the Manulife Agency system to enable the execution of the strategic priorities of growth top tier segments
- Embed the Manulife system as part of the cohort management strategy
- Conduct field audits, interviews, and inspections on the utilization of Manulife performance management tools and develop solutions and action plans to address performance gaps in collaboration with the zone teams.
- Promote usage of Manulife management tools to increase utilization and drive performance
Execution of proposition marketing with Agency
- Collaborate with propositions, MIMTC and marketing teams to identify opportunities to improve the capability of the top tier segments on key propositions as defined by the company (e.g. Health, Long term savings)
- Develop an eco-system for any propositions (health, retirement, education, etc.) in collaboration with products, MIMTC and marketing team
- Conduct regular surveys and insights gathering from top tier segment on the Manulife propositions
- Collaborate with cross functional teams on gather market intelligence on the propositions to enable feedback loops in the product development life cycle

What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree business, economics, management, or marketing.
- At least 15 years of experience in agency and sales management in a Life Insurance setting.
- Has held key position relative to the job, preferably leading sales management team within an insurance organization
- Experienced in developing and executing strategy, business plans, and programs relative to the job.
- Strong business and financial acumen
- The ability to work accurately and independently and with a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- An eye for detail along with excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High sense of business ethics and professionalism
