Hybrid

Who We Are:

At RTX, the world largest aerospace and defense company, 185,000 great minds are united by purpose and inspired to make a difference solving the world’s most complex problems. With our three market leading businesses, world-class operations and investments in research and development, we offer capabilities and opportunity no one else can. Together, we push the boundaries of known science and find new ways to connect and protect our world.

Pratt & Whitney is a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems and has been revolutionizing modern flight for over 100 years. Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.

Expectations of the Role:

Digital Engine Services team is dedicated to providing end to end solutions to improve aircraft reliability while reducing operating costs.

The selected candidate will generate/implement algorithms that monitor critical flight parameters, alert for anomalies, and provide visibility to events or exceedances.

This helps the operator to make informed decisions about preventive maintenance, thereby reducing unscheduled maintenance, lowering operating costs, and increasing aircraft availability. DPHM’s advanced diagnostic solutions provides true value-added benefits that enable the operator to determine the best time to undertake maintenance on the engine and airframe. This can minimize costs by allowing for component repair instead of replacement and maximize engine time on wing.

What You Will Do:

  • Support development and implementation of advanced engine performance condition trend monitoring algorithms for all P&WC engine types and models
  • Perform aero-thermodynamic cycle analysis and make aircraft engine performance trend predictions by creating deterioration models and simulations
  • Investigate system level issues related to aircraft gas turbine engine design, performance, operability and operation
  • Generate algorithms that normalize engine data to a consistent operating condition for trending
  • Develop and implement scripts, algorithms, machine learning, data clustering and fault classification techniques within a relational database structure
  • Create, validate and implement advanced aircraft utilization algorithms and engine performance trend monitoring tools to enhance engine maintenance forecasting accuracy
  • Perform database queries to support engineering analysis and manage engine field issues
  • Support implementation of dashboards and BI solutions for internal and external customer reporting

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor/Master of Science in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 5-8 years of engineering experience required in the field of aviation.
  • Experience in turbomachinery performance modeling (i.e., SOAPP, FAST, NPSS, etc.)
  • Experience supporting turbomachinery testing, data collection and/or data reduction
  • Knowledgeable of Six Sigma Control Charts and the associated statistics
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Python, SQL, AWS Lambda, & PowerBI is mandatory
  • Ability to leverage analytical and quantitative skills to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, compare against physics-based models and complete root cause analysis
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications Good Have:

  • AWS Services, DataBricks, Machine Learning, Agile Framework and knowledge of Product Reliability analysis
  • knowledge of software development process and software development tools (incl. C/C++ and Python)

Shifts/Work Hours:

Day Shift: typically 9:00-16:00 IST on-site, on weekdays, with 2 hours of remote work to support EST meetings or training
