Overview:

  • Full Time, Fixed-term contract until 30 June 2025

  • HEW 8 + 17% of superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangement

  • Based at the Melbourne City campus, however, may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University and Defence.

About the Position

RMIT University is seeking an exceptionally motivated and experienced Training Coordinator to assume responsibility for overseeing the Defence Training for Australian Defence Logistics College's capability to Defence. This critical and multifaceted role is integral to ensuring the effective alignment of training requirements for the Fuels and presents promising opportunities for career progression within various realms of defence training. The successful candidate will play a pivotal and proactive role in enriching the training program through close collaboration with RMIT and ADLC. This will involve overseeing and managing logistics, intricately planning training modules, efficiently handling facilities, supervising trainers, while concurrently upholding the requisite standards for program quality and compliance.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Experience in training delivery, particularly in fuels or similar technical fields.

  • Background in military or defence environments, with an understanding of the unique requirements and protocols of the ADF.

  • Strong communication skills to deliver training and collaborate with stakeholders effectively.

  • Ability to work with diverse individuals, including military personnel, university staff, and trainees.

  • Cability to manage training programs, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards related to fuel handling and training.

  • Commitment to ensuring all training activities comply with ADF and RMIT regulations.

  • Leadership skills to manage and mentor a team of trainers and support staff.

  • Ability to foster a positive and productive team environment.

  • Security clearance at the Baseline or NV1 level is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or an equivalent qualification.

  • Additional fuel-related certifications, safety management, or technical training (e.g., hazardous materials handling, occupational health and safety, heavy vehicle license.).

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, education, military science, or a related discipline is highly desirable.

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check and other checks as required by the specific role. Maintaining a valid Working With Children Check is a condition of employment at RMIT.
