What You’ll Do

Working under the direction of, and in collaboration with the director of critical care services - West to plan, implement, direct, cooperate and evaluate the clinical functions of the intensive care unit. Works jointly with the director, physicians and staff to develop the department's mission, vision, values, goals, policies, and procedures. In conjunction with the medical plan of care, independently perform systematic and continuous assessment of the physical, emotional, clinical, and psychosocial needs of assigned patients and families; plans and implements appropriate interventions; and evaluates effectiveness and adjusts plan as indicated in a timely manner in the provision of safe and effective care.

Requirements 

AHA ACLS within 90 days.

AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days.

AHA PALS Provider within 180 days.

ASLS - Advanced Stroke Life Support within 180 days.

Bedside Ecmo Trained

CardioVascular Disease CEU hours - 8 per year annually by transcript due date.

Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse’s state of residence.

CVICU trained.

Helicopter Safety within 365 days.

If no experience as an RN or LPN in a hospital setting or it has been more than 5 years since last worked in a hospital setting, nurses must successfully pass Patient Care Orientation (PCO) within 30 days.

Impella Trained

NIH Stroke Scale Certification within 90 days.

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Program (CPI) within 120 days.

RN Competency Day annually by transcript due date.

Satisfactory completion of Freeman Health System "Critical Care RN Orientation Checklist" Competency

Stroke CEU Hours - 8 per year annually by transcript due date.

Trained In Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)

Trained in Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Training (IABP)

Trauma CEU Hours - 8 per year annually by transcript due date.

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 365 days.
