There is currently an opening for an Associate Systems Administrator or Systems Administrator join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidate will report to the Information Systems Administration Manager. This position falls under one of Northrop Grumman's Small Business Units, Sonoma Photonics, Inc. and will be located onsite in Santa Rosa, CA.

 Essential responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.

  • Install, configure, & update systems/software, and automate tasks.

  • Manage user accounts, enforce access controls, and provide technical support.

  • Manage network devices/services, monitor traffic & troubleshoot issues.

  • Implement & enforce security policies, maintain system compliance.

  • Identifying/Diagnosing system issues with Windows client/server-based systems and implementing solutions to technical problems.

  • Documenting procedures and troubleshooting steps.

  • Configuring Windows Group Policy to automate required security tasks.

  • Occasional weekends/off hours work required.

  • This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work. 

This requisition may be filled as either a Systems Administrator or a Principal Systems Administrator.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate Systems Administrator: Bachelor's degree and 0 years of experience

  • Systems Administrator: Bachelors: Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience within IT or relevant experience

  • Experience in automating tasks utilizing scripting and/or orchestration tools

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware and software in a networked environment

  • Familiarity with Virtual environment using VMware products (i.e., vCenter, ESXi, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Networking environment (i.e., routers, firewalls, VLANs, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Windows based Servers (2019, 2022) and Clients (Windows 10/11)

  • Familiarity with MS SQL Server (2019, 2022)

  • Familiarity with various backup technologies (BackupExec, Veeam, File Replication)

  • Familiarity with auditing tools (Splunk, Logparser)

  • CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent) within 6 months of hire

  • The ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with troubleshooting complex Windows, network, and COTS-related issues

  • Experience managing a virtualized production environment

  • Experience producing system architecture documentation

  • DOD 8570 IAT/IAM Level II security certification Security Certifications (i.e., Security+ ce, GSEC)

  • Familiarity with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), DFARS Clause 252.204-7012 and/or NIST 800-171 Framework

  • Proficiency in one or more of the following languages is preferred: PowerShell, Python

Salary Range: $65,600.00 - $98,400.00Salary Range 2: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
