Position Summary
The primary responsibility of a Senior Revenue Cycle Coordinator is to establish an expertise in all revenue cycle functions (intake, billing, collections, cash posting) to help provide guidance, mentoring and back up support as needed across the RCI revenue cycle team. Assist with processing insurance verification/authorization, billing, AR/ Collections, cash posting, account documentation, as well as customer service and issue resolution. Provides support in ensuring accurate billing, efficient revenue flow, and compliance with regulations. The Sr Coordinator will also assist the Supervisor with assignment of work, training, and mentoring while maintaining patient/ client service agreements. Accurately and efficiently performing administrative escalation support across intake, billing, and collector work.

  • Perform daily workflow tasks and responsibilities, and assists with intake, billing, collector functions
  • Provides direction to the team on insurance verification, authorizations, billing, and collection inquiries to ensure quality and productivity efficiency.
  • Conducts weekly audits and reviews to assess accuracy, compliance, and documentation completeness. Support ensuring quality and productivity expectations are met.
  • Identifies areas for improvement and provides weekly feedback to team members to enhance revenue cycle practices and ensure proper revenue capture.
  • Assesses and assists with reallocating staff to cover increases in day-to-day workload volumes and/or team PTO
  • The Sr Revenue Cycle Coordinator must be able and willing to perform all functions of an Intake, Billing, Collections, and Cash Posting Coordinator and may be rotated through these functions as necessary to meet client deadlines and business needs. 
  • Participates and collaborates with revenue cycle management team on process improvement initiatives to identify bottlenecks and optimize day to day workflows.
  • Provides training and education to revenue cycle team members to help improve knowledge, accuracy, documentation practices, and updates to team workflows and processes

Required Qualifications

         Two+ years of work experience in revenue cycle operations (eg: billing, collections, credits, cash etc)

         Two+ years of experience in a professional environment

         Two+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams

         Two+ years of experience meeting or exceeding the expectation as a Revenue Cycle Coordinator or similar Lead role

  • Excellent written and verbal, communicate required to effectively and respectfully communicate with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to mentor others and convey information in a clear and concise manner to ensure comprehension & understanding
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skill necessary to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional maturity necessary to work within a team environment.
  • Ability to make decisions and resolve issues.
  • Must be able to embrace change positively.
  • Ability and willingness to cross-train in multiple areas (e.g. intake, billing, collections, cash, etc.).
  • Must be able to respond to inquiries from other departments, internal or external members/clients.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and instruction.
  • Basic typing skills.
  • Ability to coach and mentor other team members
  • Ability to work with varying levels of leadership within the organization

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Home infusion or durable medical equipment (DME) experience
  • Strong attention to detail with a sense of urgency; customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with insurance verification, authorizations, medical billing or collections. Experience with accounts payable (AP) or accounts receivable (AR); experience with healthcare reimbursement systems.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$18.50 - $35.29

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
