Job Summary

The Red Hat National Security Programs team is looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join us in Maryland, Washington DC or Northern VA.  In this pre-sales role, you’ll help us deliver our enterprise class open source solutions and meet the needs of our strategic customers.  You will be our primary technical customer facing advocate who creates possibilities, solves problems, and establishes strategic relationships.  You'll be helping our customers leverage their existing IT infrastructures while building additional capabilities allowing for today’s digital transformation needs. Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with sales and technical delivery teams to bring our customers the best solutions from the Red Hat portfolio including platform, cloud, management, automation and application development

  • Discover and analyze customers' business and technical problems; apply appropriate Red Hat solutions to address their needs

  • Provide pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex services and solutions

  • Provide trusted thought leadership both internally and with our customers

  • Use deep product and industry knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations

  • Follow standard practices and procedures for analyzing situations or data

Required Skills / Factors:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI and a minimum of a CI polygraph (current)

  • 10+ years of experience in sales engineering, consulting, IT architecture, or equivalent supporting strategic accounts

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a record of developing relationships at engineering, program management and executive levels

  • Experience working with modern development practices like DevOps or continuous integration

  • Strong work ethic - ability to work in a field environment with frequently shifting priorities

  • Must be local to the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Candidates outside of the DC / MD / VA area will not be considered

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, sometimes on short notice

Highly Desired Skills / Factors:

  • Active IC badge

  • Experience with multiple community elements

  • Certified in Red Hat technology, such as Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or similar

  • Certified in other technologies such as Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, etc.

  • Experience with automation to include scripting with Ansible, Python, PowerShell, etc.

  • Hands-on experience with containers, Kubernetes or OpenShift

The salary range for this position is $162,950.00 - $260,830.00 (inclusive of base pay + target incentive compensation). Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
