Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Intern – CAD Technician for 2026. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA.

MISSION

Support the production of all aspects of signaling design in accordance with industry and company standards

Accountabilities (CAD/Detailing)

·       Learn and follow through on Hitachi cad standards

·       Participate in the drawing management process including the production of CAD drafting of electrical and mechanical designs

      o    Update and alter drawings as requested, for designers and for customer submittals

·       Support the preparation of detailed design documentation and specifications and the preparation of System configuration and interconnection of system components for signaling schemes

·       Participate in the control of all documents in accordance with company IMS processes and the Configuration Management system

Performance Criteria (CAD/Detail/Mech)

·       Learning EWS, file management, INS 403

·       Work in a team

·       Basic cad skills

·       Cad errors / rework

·       Recieves training

·       Communicates well

·       Completion of the drawings on time according to project schedule

Required Skills & Experience (CAD/Detail/Mech)

·       Microsoft Products: Word and Excel and Outlook

Must have one of the following:

·       Microstation (preferred)

·       AutoCAD

Desired Skills & Experience

·       Microstation experience

·       Descartes

·       Bluebeam

·       Visio

·       Creating Macros

Languages:

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
