Ko wai mātou – About us
Kia ora. We’re Foodies. You know New World, PAK’nSAVE, Gilmours and Four Square, right? That’s us!
With more than 320 stores and over 27,000 Foodies across Te Ika-a-Māui, Foodstuffs North Island is a co-operative proudly owned by our Members. Our purpose is simple – making sure New Zealanders get more out of life, and we’re driven by our aspiration to be one of New Zealand’s most customer-driven and productive retailers.
Te Tūranga – About the role
The Employee Experience (EEx) Programme is transforming how our people and payroll experience works across Foodies - simpler, smarter, and focused on the moments that matter most.
As part of this work, we’re seeking a People Systems Consultant to join our People & Capability team and play a hands‑on role in shaping, improving, and supporting our people systems. Reporting to the Head of People Systems, this role is responsible for the day‑to‑day ownership and optimisation of our HR systems, ensuring they work in practice for our people across our stores, DCs, and Support Centre.
This role is all about striking the right balance between maximising system capability and delivering a seamless, meaningful employee experience.
You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and working on things like:
Owning and optimising key HR systems and modules (including SAP SuccessFactors and LumApps x Beekeeper)
Configuring and improving systems in a cloud‑based environment
Responding to system issues, questions, and “something’s not quite right” moments
Partnering with People & Capability teams to deliver system improvements aligned to our people strategy
Acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, balancing business needs with a seamless employee experience
Supporting system enhancements and new module implementations with a frontline‑first mindset
Ngā painga – What we offer
We’re committed to providing awesome experiences for our people, including offering a range of benefits
Free carparking - we’ve got over 1,000 carparks including free EV plugs
Southern cross health insurance
Onsite café with subsidised meals, mini mart, 5% discount at our retail stores
Flexible working options, a day off on your birthday, long service leave, lots of fun on site activities
Inhouse learning and development programmes and courses, flu vaccinations, and social network groups (we call them Tribes).
He kōrero mōu – About you
This role will suit someone who is practical, people‑focused, and systems‑savvy. We’re keen to hear from you if you have:
Experience working with HR / People Systems (SuccessFactors experience is ideal but not essential)
A background in people systems, HRIS, or in‑house HR technology
Confidence configuring and improving cloud‑based systems
The ability to problem‑solve and support users in a live operational environment
A collaborative style and strong stakeholder management skills
And importantly - you enjoy making systems work better for people.
Experience awesome. Achieve awesome. Be awesomely you.
We’re proud to have a focus on Diversity & Inclusion here at Foodies and welcome courageous behaviour, encourage togetherness, inspire our people to be their best selves in our Foodies whānau.
