What is the Aviation Operations group responsible for?

The corporate aviation department is dedicated to providing safe, efficient, and reliable air travel solutions for the company's executives and key stakeholders. This department manages a fleet of modern aircraft, ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, and maintains the highest standards of operational excellence. From coordinating flight schedules and overseeing aircraft maintenance to ensuring passenger comfort and safety, the corporate aviation team plays a critical role in supporting the company's strategic goals and facilitating seamless travel experiences.

What is the Aviation Operations Coordinator responsible for?

The Aviation Operations Coordinator is responsible for the primary interface with Franklin Templeton executive support staff concerning aircraft scheduling, record keeping and scheduling/tracking of all personnel and aircraft.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Aviation Operations Coordinator?

  • Provide direct support for Franklin Templeton executives and executive staff to assist with the scheduling/coordinating and dispatching of travel requests.  

  • Schedule and track flight crew assignments including flights, training, and time off.

  • Provide logistical support such as hotel bookings, airline travel, ground transportation, fuel procurement, airport permissions/slots, overflight and landing permits and trip handling.

  • Provides aircraft maintenance record keeping and administrative support (CAMP).

  • Maintains department records, data, and statistics including trip records, aircraft documentation and aircrew training, medical and trip assignments.

  • Monitors pilot currency (aircraft qualifications, and medical qualifications).

  • Performs other administrative assignments from the aviation manager.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • 5+ years of corporate flight scheduling/dispatching.  Highly prefer FAA part 91/135 experience.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulations, aircraft performance, and aviation weather.  FAA dispatcher license or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Expert knowledge of flight crew rest requirements, airport capabilities, aircraft performance/endurance and general aviation geography.

  • Previous experience with aviation scheduling and flight planning software (PFM, FOS, Airplane Manager, ARINC, Foreflight, etc.).

  • Familiarity with MS Office products: Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook etc.

  • Aviation career minded individual who can make critical decisions quickly and effectively.  Someone who is highly organized and able to discreetly handle sensitive and confidential data.  Willing to work in a dynamic team/partnership environment to achieve safe and efficient corporate travel outcomes.

Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $125,000.00 - $135,000.00.
