There is an opportunity available for a Radiology Technologist to join our team at Banner Desert Medical Center.  Our state of the art Level 1 Trauma Facility and Radiology department specializes in high level care to patients with multiple complex diseases.  As one of Arizona's largest and most comprehensive hospitals we are recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of Phoenix's Best Hospitals.

As Radiology Technologist Intraop , you will have the opportunity work in a fast paced and busy department with an average of 250-350 exams in a 24-hour period.  You will have the ability to participate in the care of both adult and pediatric patients in many settings that include inpatient, outpatient, Emergency department, OR, Fluoroscopy.  Staff are committed to delivering professional, compassionate care at all touch points throughout their stay.  The Radiology technologist will be responsible for identifying the patient, verifying the physician orders, and obtaining high quality radiographs that will assist in the patient’s plan of care.  Take the next step of your health care journey and join our amazing Medical Imaging department where our team delivers professional and compassionate care. National and AZ state RT Certification is required. BLS is required. Prior hospital, trauma, and/or pediatrics experience is highly preferred.

Duties- X-ray exams performed in ER, surgery, inpatient, and outpatient services

Shift- Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday 7a-730p

POSITION SUMMARY
This position performs prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with department/facility/state policies, procedures and protocols. This position ensures optimal care/treatment to patient population.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs the setup and acquisition of prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with established departmental/facility/state policies and procedures. Educates patients/families regarding the procedure and/or treatment to be performed.

2. Performs the processing of prescribed diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with established departmental/facility/state policies and procedures.

3. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements in accordance with established departmental/facility policies and procedures. Ability to trouble-shoot and notify appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.

4. Ensures the efficient operation and workflow of the department by scheduling and re-evaluating workflow throughout the day. Ensures exam rooms are stocked, performing room set-up, establishing patient transport, and schedule coordination with multi-disciplinary team members.

5. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation in accordance with established departmental/facility policies and procedures. Adheres to safety policies.

6. Independently performs prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with department/facility/state policies, procedures and protocols to patients. Internal customers: All levels of medical imaging and nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. External Customers: regulatory and health agencies, patients and family members.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Requires Practical Radiologic Technologist or Limited Scope Technologist licensure by state regulatory agency if applicable. BLS certification.

This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 1 year of experience. Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, analyze data and solve basic problems.
